Vietnam customs prohibited items and important infomations you should notice

Restricted hand luggage items

– Passengers’ possessions, that might be regarded as weapons or dangerous articles including knives, swords, batons, or any other devices or objects, which is normally not considered dangerous, but may be dangerous depending on the purpose of use, such as stone clips, razors, scissors, hammer pliers, sewing needles, sticks, etc.

– Battery cells except for personal use, such as: computer clocks, cameras, camcorders, telephones, laptops, or similar equipments. Lithium or ion batteries with capacities from 100WH to 160WH are allowed to carry 2 pieces per one person or hand baggage, and all batteries must be sealed separately to ensure short circuit not happen.

– Fragile items such as glass products, wine bottles, etc.

– Fresh items must be packed immediately, and the packaging must be ensured to avoid damage to other luggages.

– For other fresh items (such as durian, fish sauce, shrimp, etc) with unpleasant odor characteristics will not be transported as check-in luggage and hand luggage. In case these items are carefully packed and can not be smuggled to the next baggages, it can be accepted as check-in luggage with a maximum of 03 liters or 3 kg of fish sauce or other unpleasant odor liquid; and / or 05 kg of durian or other odorant.
